Alternative Wedding Rings in Bali — STRUGA Dark Union
Alternative Wedding Rings in Bali — STRUGA Dark Union
Bali is where proposals happen. The island draws couples from across the world — for the light, the energy, for what happens when ordinary life pauses long enough to make a permanent decision. If you are looking for rings that match that feeling — architectural, quiet, dark, permanent — STRUGA’s Dark Union was built exactly for this. Not diamonds and gold. Not gothic crosses or biker aesthetics. Rings made to be worn every single day, for the rest of a life: blackened 925 sterling silver, Seymchan meteorite from Siberia, carbon fiber that will not change, ever. STRUGA is a Bali-born studio, founded in 2018. Dark Union is the wedding and commitment jewelry line made here, for people who want rings as serious as the decision they represent.
What Is Dark Union
Dark Union is STRUGA’s commitment and wedding jewelry line. It was designed for couples who have looked at conventional wedding rings and found them unconvincing — too decorative, too traditional, too far from the aesthetic they actually live in. Dark Union takes the opposite position: architectural form, no ornament, material-led design. The rings are unisex and available as matched sets or individual pieces. The design language is the same across the line — dark, minimal, precise — but every ring can be customized in size, width, surface texture, and material combination. See the full Dark Union collection.
Materials for Wedding Rings
Blackened Sterling Silver
925 sterling silver with a deep oxidized finish. No rhodium plating. No coating that will chip or wear through — the blackening is achieved through chemical oxidation that penetrates the surface. This is STRUGA’s Living Silver principle applied to wedding jewelry: the ring changes with the person wearing it. Over time, high-contact areas — the inside of the band, the edges — develop a subtle lightening that reveals the silver beneath. The result is a ring that tells its own history. The finish can be maintained dark with periodic treatment, or allowed to evolve naturally.
Seymchan Meteorite
Real meteorite, not a metaphor. The Seymchan meteorite was recovered in the Magadan region of Siberia and is classified as a pallasite — iron-nickel with embedded olivine crystals. When cut and polished, it reveals the Widmanstätten crystalline structure: a geometric lattice pattern formed over billions of years of cooling in space. No two sections of meteorite are identical. A ring set with Seymchan meteorite inlay is, literally, older than Earth — a material formed before the solar system existed as it does today. STRUGA uses Seymchan for inlay work in silver bands, typically as a continuous strip running through the center of the ring.
Carbon Fiber
Aerospace-grade carbon fiber — the same class of material used in aircraft fuselages and high-performance engineering. Extremely light, completely rigid, and deeply dark with a characteristic matte woven surface texture. Carbon fiber does not tarnish, does not scratch easily, and does not change. Used as inlay or structural element within a silver band, it creates a material contrast that is both visual and tactile. For couples who want permanence without weight, carbon fiber provides a different kind of darkness to the ring.
Custom Wedding Rings in Bali
If you are visiting Bali for a proposal, honeymoon, or destination wedding, STRUGA can work with you directly on the island to design your rings. An in-person consultation allows you to handle material samples, consider widths and textures, and brief the design with full context. The process:
- Consultation — in person at a Bali partner location or via WhatsApp; discuss form, materials, and any references
- Sketch approval — STRUGA presents a design for review; nothing moves to production without approval
- $250 deposit to begin casting — credited in full to the final invoice
- Production in Bali — 2–6 weeks, hand-finished by silversmiths
- Worldwide shipping or Bali pickup — depending on your timeline and location
Custom wedding ring pricing follows the same structure as all STRUGA custom work: design from $700, plus $50 per gram of finished silver. Full itemized quote provided after sketch approval.
Not Just Bali — Worldwide
Dark Union ships to any country. You do not have to be in Bali to order a custom STRUGA wedding ring. The entire process can happen remotely — design consultation via email or WhatsApp, sketch review over video or document, final delivery to any address. STRUGA has shipped custom pieces to Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The island origin is part of what the ring carries with it — not a requirement for ordering. Use the contact form to begin.
