Classic Amulet Earring #16 — Green Tourmaline (S) | STRUGA
This object is part of the STRUGA archive. It is not currently available for direct purchase from STRUGA.
One-of-one object — unique stone, unique character.
A rough green tourmaline inside a small silver cylinder — Classic Amulet with a deep forest green.
Green tourmaline — verdelite — takes its colour from iron. In 1703, Dutch East India Company merchants brought the first Ceylonese tourmalines to Amsterdam and noticed that, when warmed, the stones attracted and then repelled the ash from their pipes. They named it aschentrekker — "ash puller" — and called it the Ceylonese Magnet. The rough crystal keeps the longitudinal striations of its trigonal prism; a cut stone erases that fingerprint. 925 silver, handmade.
The green Classic Amulet. Mono, one ear.
